
Dr. John Jackson
Chancellor of William Jessup University
Dr. John Jackson is a transformational Christian leader, author, and higher-education executive serving as Chancellor of William Jessup University in Rocklin, California. He previously served for 15 years (starting in March 2011) as the sixth President of Jessup University, where under his leadership the institution significantly expanded its academic programs, enrollment, and national recognition as a Christ-centered university. In early 2026 he transitioned into the role of Chancellor as part of a planned retirement and to continue supporting strategic initiatives and donor engagement.
Before Jessup, Dr. Jackson co-founded Thriving Churches International, was a senior leader at Bayside Church (Granite Bay, CA), and founded LifePoint Church in Nevada. He also served in denominational leadership and pastoral roles in California. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Educational Administration and Organizational Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, an M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a B.A. in Religion from Chapman University. Dr. Jackson is the author of multiple books on leadership, church growth, and spiritual formation. He and his wife Pamela live in Northern California and have five children and several grandchildren
