David Koh

Payment Processing Specialist

"It's 2 a.m. in Manhattan. The city below is still glowing, but on the trading floor the only light comes from a wall of screens. The coffee is cold. The deal is closing. And somewhere between the spreadsheets and the bonus checks, a young banker from Morgan Stanley feels something quietly die inside him. That banker was me. I was built for that moment. From the time I was a kid, I was trained to be a beast: outwork everyone, never lose, be the best in every room I walked into. It worked. It carried me through the Ivy League at the University of Pennsylvania and straight onto Wall Street. I was living the American Dream exactly the way I had been told to live it. But the Dream had a price, and I paid it with my soul. Every promotion, every win, every late night pulled me further from who I was and further from God. On the outside I was a success story. On the inside I was a ghost in a tailored suit. And when everything I had built could no longer fill the emptiness, I finally stopped running and turned to the only One left. God was my last chance. It turned out He had never stopped chasing me. ""For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"" Mark 8:36 After meeting God, I left New York, left Wall Street, and headed west to Silicon Valley with nothing but conviction and a hunger to build something that mattered. I launched the Blind App, a professional community that grew into a platform trusted today by more than 9 million verified professionals from over 300,000 companies worldwide. Then Covid hit, and God moved me again. My path led to the Roseville area, and through a mentor I met at church, He opened a door I never saw coming: payment processing. Today I run KohPay Payment Solutions, and I fight for the people who keep our communities alive: local business owners. For years, processing companies have quietly drained their profits through hidden fees and fine print. My job is to stop that, so the families behind these businesses keep more of what they earn. The same discipline that once served Wall Street now serves Main Street, and ultimately, it serves Christ. When I am not in the office, you will find me on a pickleball court. I also serve as CFO of Pickleball Joy, a nonprofit that brings the game and equipment to underserved communities around the world, from the mountains of Nepal to the villages of Malawi to the islands of Saipan, Chuuk, and Palau. There is nothing quite like watching kids on the other side of the planet pick up a paddle for the first time and light up with joy. I once tried to gain the whole world and lost my soul doing it. Now I live for the One who gave it back."
